There were some amazing races today. I think the best was the 250 Schoolboy race. Our boy Cole Thompson got off to a 12th place start on his Honda 125 2-stroke. He worked his way up into third place with a couple laps left and then hounded the leaders but ran out of time. Should be a great second moto!

Mitch Oldenburg, whose family owns the Oak Hill track, was the guy just in front of Cole at the end. He looked great out there and will have something to say about a Canadian winning the Schoolboy class.

Mitch has red hair but seems like he has a soul to me...
Cole Varty was in the Schoolboy race too. He got off to a mid-pack start and finished in that area by the end. He said he rode tight and hopes to do better the rest of the week.

Thanks mom and dad!!!

I know this one is a 'do-over' from yesterday but I just couldn't help myself!

#92 is Adam Cianciarulo...he's going really fast!

It's amazing to see how young he actually is after seeing him tear the Lake Whitney track to shreds.

'John Law' was on the track a lot today and made all his main motos but he wasn't happy with his starts.

Michael Da Silva raced EIGHT MOTOS today! Wow.
He came around in his sight lap with a flat rear tire. His dad rode back to the pits to change it and would have made it if the spare rim had a sprocket on it. He had to put one on and they ended up getting going late. He still got 16th but they only took the top 15 so he had to ride the consolation race, which he won.
Here's the poor kid trying to buy some time at the start line.

I can't be sure but I think I read his lips thanking the pink stickers and MX Forum for his victory.

Don't let Momma T know I took this of her sexy 'Texas Friend.'

Ryan Millar hasn't had one race yet. He's only been out for the Open Four Stroke practice on Tuesday. He's 14th start tomorrow and will also get to practice the Open A/Pro class tomorrow as well. Lot's more fast guys have been arriving for this.

PO Levigne had a bit of an eye-opener today, I think. The B classes are ridiculously fast down here! He got off to a mid-pack start in the 450B Mod race but said his arms pumped up and he worked his way backward. He has a bunch more races left this week and hopes to be more comfortable out there.

Is 'rodeo' a verb?

I rendered these pics way down like yesterday because I'm only dealing with one bar of connectivity here in the Lodge parking lot. Should be some great racing tomorrow.
Here are a few of the choice quotes from today:
Michael Da Silva: "My starts didn't go as well as my races did."
PO Levigne: "I need to get good starts and I will regroup for tomorrow."
John Pauk: "I'm a longer moto person but definitely need better starts."
Ryan Lockhart: "I've had 30 beers and a bottle of Crown Royal...I am NOT taking my shirt off!"
Random Guy: "He doesn't eat very well; he eats chicken strips and gummy bears."
PS If I had a nickel every time someone asked if I had sunscreen on I'd be rich! See y'all tomorrow night. Word is that there's a hoot-nanny...or was it a honky tonk??? Either way, Newf promises to karaoke Journey's hit 'Small Town Boy' (or whatever it's called).
See you at the races...

Also, thanks to the Thompsons for the amazing bbq last night and to the Millar folks for putting up with me this entire trip so far.
