castrol act-evo 2T pre mix

Postby Shaky on Wed Mar 03, 2010 6:32 am

I've got a chance to buy a case of this for REALY cheep, and am wondering if it's worth it. Has anyone used this oil befor? I plan on mixing it at 40:1 in a 06RM250.

Any advice would be good. It wasn't going to be the oil of choice, but at the price, im wondering if it's worth it.

Thanks

I personally wouldn't use it for MX. That oil was developed for 2 stroke streetbikes, and snowmobiles.

how do they differ other then the injection aspect? Is the oil to thin to stay "mixed" in the gas?

2T street bikes, and snowmobiles are mainly multi cylinder engines which usually run a maximum of 8-9000 rpm. A MX bike can see RPM well passed that up to as high as 13000 RPM. MX bikes need alot more oil film strength than a street bike, or sled.

that makes sence. Well I ride woods so my RPM's are down most of the time, but after this case is up, I agree, I'd rather go with a dirtbike spacific racing oil.
